Duane T. Bowman, 49, of Everett, passed away on March 12, 2022 at home, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on July 12, 1972 in Everett; son of Percy and Annette (Stone) Bowman. Duane was united in marriage to Julie (Wilson) Bowman on October 7, 2017 at Shawnee State Park. He was a Class of 1990 graduate of Everett High School and member of the Everett Church of the Brethren.

Duane was employed as a terminal operator and truck driver for Energy Transfer (Sunoco Logistics) and helped LaSalle’s Garage and Towing. He was an honorary member and past Fire Chief of the Everett Fire Company. Duane was Firefighter I, Firefighter II, and Vehicle Rescue certified. He was a top fire call attender for many years and enjoyed serving the community he grew up and lived in. Duane also participated in the Make-A-Wish Convoy and Car Show. He enjoyed watching the Kentucky Derby, attending truck and tractor pulls, and was an avid NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt, Sr. fan.

Duane was preceded in death by grandparents Thomas and Mary Stone and Kenneth and Verna Bowman. Surviving are his wife, Julie; son, Matthew Bowman (Rebecca) of Hopewell; daughter, Danielle Bowman (fiancé, Travis) of Roaring Spring; daughters, Shelbi Bowman and Niaomi Wilson at home; son, Jayden Bowman at home; grandchildren, Hailey, Emily, Reed, and another on the way; parents, Percy and Annette Bowman of Everett; sister, Letitia Neuder (Joel) of Spartanburg, SC; twin brother, Darrell Bowman (Dawn) of Everett; father in-law, Roy Wilson; mother-in-law, Sandra Kohan; brother-in-law Jacob Wilson; sisters-in-law, JoAnna Houpt and Laura Wilson; his faithful, “man’s best friend,” Wylie; as well as numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 from 4:00PM - 8:00PM and Thursday, March 17, 2022 from 10:00AM to the 11:00AM Funeral Service officiated by Pastor Michael Benner. All of the above will be held at the Everett Church of the Brethren. Interment will be in the Everett Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are being accepted to help the family with final expenses. The family wishes to thank you for your support, kindness, and gratitude during this heartbreaking time.
