Edna Amelia Roland

Edna Amelia Roland 90, of Duncannon, formerly of Williamsburg, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born on August 19, 1935 in Williamsburg, a daughter of the late Frank and Joanna (Walker) Forshey.

She is survived by her four children: Duane F. Oakes Jr. widower of Yvonne, of Duncannon, Paul Oakes and wife Dana, of Reynoldsville, Kathi Oakes and significant other Michael Roush, of Duncannon, and Faith Spitler, of New Cumberland; 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren: 1 great-great-grandchild; five step-children: Dorsey Roland, Craig Roland, Rose Allison, Karen Barber, and Faith Roland; 11 step-grandchildren; and 16 step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband Duane F. Oakes Sr., and her second husband Dorsey Roland, and five siblings: Raymond Forshey, Oscar Forshey, Paul Forshey Sr., Dorothy Lockawich, and Betty Farringer.

Edna worked on her family farm growing up before owning and operating with her husband Duane. She graduated in 1968 from the Altoona School of Commerce and worked as a receptionist for Dr. Wingert in Altoona for a short time. After she married Dorsey, she relocated to Duncannon and worked at Olivetti. She resided in Duncannon until her passing. Edna enjoyed reading, puzzles, gardening, canning, and visiting with her family and friends Verna, Dot, and Pat. She was a devout follow of Christ, and was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and a kind hearted friend to all.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 from 11:00 am until the noon funeral service at the Fink & Stone Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., Williamsburg. Burial at Yellow Springs Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.
