Edwin B. Bridenbaugh, 88, went home to be with the Lord, Monday morning, March 21, 2016, at his home, following an extended illness.

He was born in Martinsburg, North Woodbury Township, son of the late G. Herbert and Gertrude (Miller) Bridenbaugh. He married Betty M. Horton on February 19, 1949 in Taylor Township. She preceded him in death on September 26, 2007.

Surviving are three sons: Glenn E. (wife, Gail) and David (wife, Geri), both of rural Martinsburg, and Roger (wife, Tammy) of Hoschton, GA; six grandchildren: Grant, Garth, Heather Kindel, Christian, Cody and Eric; eight great-grandchildren: Austin, Jessa, Joshua, Maura, Kathryn, Joey, Carson and Carter; and two brothers: George of Martinsburg, and Robert of Roaring Spring.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jane Hinish, and a childhood brother, Nevin.

Edwin was a 1945 graduate of Morrison Cove High School, Martinsburg and had attended Juniata College, Huntingdon.

He was the owner/operator of Bridenbaugh Orchards, rural Martinsburg, where he worked alongside his wife and family for many years. Edwin loved growing fruit and the time he got to spend with his family in their orchards.

Edwin was a member and former deacon of Memorial Church of the Brethren, Martinsburg. He also formerly served as president of the Tri-County Fruit Growers; and was a member of the PA Farmers Association and the Cove Apple Packers.

He enjoyed playing softball, officiating basketball games, playing in the Blair County Baseball League, and shooting billiards with his buddies.

Friends will be received from 10:30 am until the Noon, funeral service, Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Memorial Church of the Brethren, Martinsburg, Pastor Joel F. Nogle officiating. Private interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.

The family prefers memorial contributions be given to Memorial Church of the Brethren, Martinsburg.
