Eleanor M. Georgiana

Eleanor Mae (Mentzer) Georgiana, age 104, of Newark, DE, went home to the Lord on January 24, 2026.  She was born in Martinsburg, PA on December 30, 1921, daughter of the late Clifford E. Mentzer and Estella (Herbster) Mentzer.

Eleanor’s hobbies included cooking, baking, gardening, sewing, singing, and playing the piano. She was an excellent cook and people looked forward to her holiday dinners. In the summer, she tended to her beautiful flower gardens that she loved. Eleanor enjoyed being a grandmother and adored her grandchildren.

Eleanor is survived by her two daughters, Ann M. Georgiana and Patricia Boeckenstedt (Scott); grandsons, Alexander Boeckenstedt (Hayley), and Daniel Boeckenstedt; and her great-grandsons, Nathan and Cameron. Eleanor was preceded in death by her loving husband, Anthony; and her younger sister, Joann.

A funeral service will be celebrated at 2:00pm on Thursday, February 5, at St. Philip’s Lutheran Church, 5320 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808 with visitation beginning at 1:00pm. Private Burial at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg, PA
