Elizabeth A. Rock, 87, of Martinsburg, passed away Monday evening, December 18, 2023, at UPMC Altoona.

She was born in New Paris, daughter of the late George E. and Anna M. (Calahan) Rice. On October 5, 1956, she married Daniel M. Rock, Sr., in Cumberland, MD. He preceded her in death on November 19, 1978, after 22 years of marriage.

Surviving are a daughter, Cathy S. Cox (Richard) and a son, Daniel M. Rock Jr. (Roberta), both of Claysburg; five grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Arthur R. Rice (Yvonne), of MD.

She was preceded in death by a son, Edward P. “Eddie” Rock; four brothers: Andrew, Frank, Bruce, and Kermit; and a sister, Sara.

Elizabeth was a 1954 graduate of Bedford High School and was a member of Smithfield Church in rural Martinsburg.  She was employed for 47 years at Cove Shoe Factory, Martinsburg, where she worked in almost every department.

She loved spending time with family and also enjoyed sewing, watching television and completing word search puzzles.

Friends will be received from 1pm until 2:30pm, Thursday, December 21, 2023 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg, where a funeral service will begin at 2:30pm, Pastor James Neatrour officiating. Private interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery.
