Ellen J. Blyler

Ellen Jane Blyler, 77, resident of Homewood at Martinsburg, formerly of Williamsburg, passed away Monday afternoon at UPMC Altoona.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Thomas L. and Bertha A. (Merritts) Blyler.
Surviving are a sister, Carolyn B. French (husband, Steven) of Fairport, NY; 2 nieces; 3 nephews; many great nieces and nephews; and numerous close and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas E..
Ellen was a 1955 graduate of Williamsburg High School.
She was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church, Williamsburg, where she formerly served on church council and taught Sunday School.
Ellen retired from Hollidaysburg Trust Company, Williamsburg with 35 years of service, where she served in various capacities. Following her retirement she was employed as a clerk, at Kauffman Department Store, Altoona.
She was a member of the Williamsburg Civic Club, and volunteered for various organizations.
Ellen loved spending time with family and friends, and also enjoyed visiting and learning about historical events and places.
Friends will be received from 1:30pm until the 3pm funeral service, Sunday, April 26, 2015, at Zion Lutheran Church, Williamsburg, Pastor Tiffany E. Marvich officiating. Interment will follow at Royer Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.
The family prefers memorial contributions be given to Zion Lutheran Church (for the benefit of E.L.C.A. World Hunger)
