Elsie M. Pace, 96, resident of Epworth Manor, Tyrone, formerly of Williamsburg, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday evening, January 17, 2021 at Epworth Manor.

She was born in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late Rev. Chalmer M. and Violet J. (Jamison) Stubbs.  Elsie was twice married, first to D. Mearl Paul, who passed away on September 26, 1983 and then to Bobby E. Pace, who preceded her in death on October 18, 2010.

Surviving are two daughters: Donna M. Oakes (Claude) of Pinecroft and Naomi D. Bookhammer of Williamsburg; a son, DeWayne M. Paul (Patricia) of Phoenix, AZ; three grandchildren: Virginia L. Bookhammer, Jason P. Houp and Justin C. Houp; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Donald E. Stubbs; twin brothers, Chalmer Lloyd Stubbs and Cloyd N. Stubbs; and a sister, Dorcas E. Shade.

Elsie was employed at the restaurant in the Gable’s Department Store, Altoona.  She also worked for the Lingerie Factory, Hollidaysburg and at the Children’s Home in Williamsburg.

She was longtime member of House of Prayer Apostolic Church, Williamsburg.  Elsie loved spending time with her family and also enjoyed crocheting, flower gardening and embroidery.

A private funeral service will be held at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg, Pastor Gary Dull officiating.  Interment will follow at Salem Church Cemetery, rural Martinsburg.

Memorial contributions in memory of Elsie may be given to Epworth Manor, 863 S. Lincoln Ave., Tyrone, PA 16686.
