Esther Virginia Witter, 90, of Messiah Village in Mechanicsburg, formerly of Chambersburg, passed away on July 6, 2015. Born on June 24, 1924 in Taneytown, Maryland, the daughter of Edgar F. Schildt and Ada (Bowers) Schildt. On June 7, 1947 she married Roger N. Witter in Taneytown, Maryland. Esther was a member of the Messiah Village Brethren in Christ Church. Her interests included sewing, needlework, and baking in her home owned bakery, Hill Top Bakery. She is survived by her husband Roger N. Witter of Messiah Village in Mechanicsburg. Daughters, Rosanna Bitner of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania; Miriam Sollenberger of Manheim, Pennsylvania, and Angela Theda of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Sons, Marlin Witter of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania and Kevin Witter of Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. Also surviving is her sister, Pauline Pifer and brother Lloyd Schildt, as well as 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents as well as brothers Ralph, Paul, Laverne, and Daniel Schildt. Friends will be received from 10:00AM to 11:00AM on Saturday July 11, 2015 at the Messiah Village Church. At 11:00AM a Memorial Service will take place with Pastors Kevin Witter and Debbie Bentch officiating. A private interment will take place at Air Hill Church Cemetery in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.
