Esther M. Wyles

     Esther M. Wyles 95 of Roaring Spring passed away on Monday, September 28, 2026 at her home. She was born in Roaring Spring a daughter of the George K. and Haddie (Dick) Smith. On January 14, 1952 in Winchester, VA she married Daniel P. Wyles who preceded her in death on January 18, 2018. She is survived by four children: Mary Hawbaker of Mercersburg, Terry Wyles of Roaring Spring, David Wyles, of Woodbury, and June Miller and husband Blaine, of Roaring Spring; three grandchildren: Misty Leavelle and husband Benjamin, Amber Clark and husband Andrew, and Heidi Millen and husband Michael; eight great-grandchildren: Tristan, Jackson, Mattalyn, Ian, Eva, Daniel, Jeremiah, and Josiah; and a brother George K. Smith Jr., and wife Betty, of Roaring Spring. She was preceded in death by two sons: Robert Paul and Fred Wyles; and three siblings: Carl A. Smith, Richard H. Smith, and Bette Anderson.

     Esther worked in the dietary department at Nason Hospital before becoming a homemaker and babysitter for many local families. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and making meals for everyone. Esther always kept a nice flower garden, and loved her Butterfly Bush. She was a member of the Albright Church of the Brethren and was faithful in reading her bible daily.

     Friends will be received on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 from 10:00 am until the hour of the service at the Albright Church of the Brethren, Roaring Spring, with Pastor Danny Hammel officiating. Interment at Holsinger Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Esther’s name to: Albright Church of the Brethren, 1245 Bloomfield Road, Roaring Spring, PA 16673.
