Ethel M. Saylor-Risbon

Ethel M. Saylor-Risbon, 52, rural Williamsburg, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday evening in Catharine Twp., rural Williamsburg, following injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born in Bedford, daughter of Melvin Lee Hall of Dudley and Shirley (Kagarise) Hall of Bedford. Ethel was twice married, first to Elvin R. “Jake” Saylor who preceded her in death on April 22, 2012, and then to Joseph C. Risbon.
Surviving are her husband Joseph of rural Williamsburg; 3 daughters: Christina Reighard of Williamsburg, Susan Zook and Heather Saylor both of Altoona; 2 sons: Allen of State College and Blair of Martinsburg; a step-daughter, Orpha Burkett of Folsom, NJ; 8 grandchildren; a step grand-daughter; 6 great-grandchildren; 5 brothers: Leroy, Emerson, Fred, and Wayne all of Saxton, and Gary of Martinsburg; 2 sisters: Nancy Hall of Saxton and Shirley “Shum” Hess of Bedford; special friends: Martha LaPenna Casselberry of Williamsburg and Robin Saylor of Roaring Spring.
Ethel received her GED from the Williamsburg High School and was a member of the former Yellow Springs Lutheran Church, rural Williamsburg.
She was primarily a homemaker who also worked at various other businesses throughout Blair County. Ethel enjoyed doing plastic canvassing, cutting quilt patches and loved spending time with her family and friends, especially at cookouts.
Friends will be received from 2-4 pm and 6-8pm, Saturday, May 7, 2016 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm, Sunday, May 8, 2016 at the funeral home, Pastor Elizabeth A. Hess officiating. Interment will follow at Yellow Springs Lutheran Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.
The family prefers memorial contributions be given to help with funeral expenses.
