Mrs. Ethel Stern Brubaker went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 9, 2022. Ethel was born on October 17, 1926, in Blair County PA, the eldest child of the late Oscar and Carrie Stern. She was baptized and accepted into church membership in the Morrison Cove district of the Brethren in Christ church on June 30, 1940. She graduated from Cove High and Messiah Academy in 1944 and from Upland College in 1948.

After her marriage to the late Allen Graybill Brubaker on September 11, 1948, she continued her service to the Lord as a pastor’s wife and a missionary. Following several attempts at retirement that were interrupted by recalls to service for the church, the couple settled in at Messiah Lifeways, where they continued encouraging friends, fellow pastoral couples, missionaries, and family members in their Christian walk.

Ethel was preceded in death by Graybill on July 1, 2011 and her sisters Viola and Bernie. She is survived by siblings Hubert and Miriam; sons Ray, Robert and Richard; as well as 7 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 from 9:30AM to the 11:30AM Funeral Service at the Grantham Brethren in Christ Church.

Interment will be in the Grantham Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that memorial contributions be made to the Messiah Lifeways Benevolent Fund.
