Evelyn S. Morelli, 88, Williamsburg passed away peacefully surrounded by her family late Thursday at Westminster Woods, Huntingdon.

She was born in Fannettsburg, daughter of the late Harry J. and Ada (Kuhn) Shoop.  She married Nicholas A. Morelli on December 24, 1950 at Zion Lutheran Church, Williamsburg.  He preceded her in death on December 18, 2003.

Surviving are a daughter, Avis M. Ritter (Thad) of Phillipsburg; 2 sons: Nicholas A. II (Suzanne) and Arkey A. (Sandy) all of Huntingdon; 8 grandchildren: Jim Ritter (Denise), Becky King (Julius), Kathryn Ritter (fiancé, Bovey), Anthony (Octavia), Toby (Maria), Tyler (Sarah), Angelo and Skylar; 6 great grandchildren: Maddison, Julius, Sydnee, and Mason Morelli, Julius King, and William Ritter; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Morelli.

Evelyn was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Raymond and Lester Shoop.

She had attended school in Fannettsburg and then graduated from Lemasters High School.  Evelyn also was a 1949 graduate of Shippensburg College receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in education.

Evelyn was a longtime, active member of Zion Lutheran Church, Williamsburg, where she was the choir director and served in many other church ministries.

She was primarily a homemaker who also taught school in the Williamsburg School District.

Evelyn was past member of the Women’s Civic Club, Williamsburg, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Williamsburg Chapter and volunteered for the Williamsburg Farm Show Association.

She loved spending time with her family and also enjoyed knitting, flower gardening, canning vegetables, and cooking.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8pm, Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church, Williamsburg where a funeral service will be held at 11am, Monday, July 20, 2015, Pastor Tiffany A. Marvich officiating.  Interment to follow at Williamsburg Lutheran Cemetery.

The family prefers memorial contributions be given to Zion Lutheran Church, Williamsburg.
