Evelyn Joanne Leach, 87, Bloomfield Township, Bedford County, passed away Wednesday morning, August 24, 2022, at UPMC Altoona.

She was born in Bedford, daughter of the late Charles Preston “Joe” and Charlotte M. (Hippensteel) Zeigler and was also raised by her late aunt, Anna Monahan.  On March 4, 1958 she married Harold D. Leach and he preceded her in death on November 13, 1993, following 35 years of marriage.

Surviving are five children; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Michael R. Leach.

Joanne was a 1954 graduate of Bedford High School and for many years attended Holsinger Church of the Brethren in Bakers Summit.

She was loving homemaker, who enjoyed spending time with her family, hummingbirds and going to Rocky Gap Casino with her adopted daughter.

At Joanne’s request all services will be private.  Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg.
