Francis Clay “Frank” Bryan

Francis Clay Bryan, 96, resident of Homewood at Martinsburg formerly of Ft. Washington, MD, passed away at UPMC Altoona.
He was born in Russellville, son of the late Henry C. and Henrietta (Brumbaugh) Bryan. On July 26, 1947 he married Eleanor LaBuda in Warren, OH. She preceded him in death on December 11, 2011.
Surviving are a daughter, Kimberly B. of Alexandria, VA; a son, David M. (Susan) of Las Vegas, NV; 3 grandchildren: Kerry Webster (Matt), Krista VanDusen and Courtney Bryan; a great-granddaughter, Mila Webster; a sister, Lucy Elder (James) of Saxton; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Joann; and a brother, Robert.
Frank was a 1938 graduate of Saxton-Liberty High School and a 1942 graduate of Penn State University where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Education.
He was U.S. Air Force (Army Air Corps) veteran of WWII serving from 1942-1947 in the China, Burma and India Theatres, attaining the rank of Corporal.
Frank retired as a General Manager from John Sexton Company, Chicago, IL with 34 years of service.
He was affiliated with the United Church of Christ and was a member of the Saxton VFW and American Legion Posts.
Frank enjoyed golfing, hunting turkey and squirrel, traveling with his wife, Eleanor and watching Penn State football.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am, Saturday, November 5, 2016 at The Bice Chapel at Homewood at Martinsburg, with Rev. Jerry McCuller Jr. officiating. Inurnment with full military honors will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 19606 Raystown Rd., James Creek, PA 16657 or Saxton Vol. Fire Company, 8th and Norris St., Saxton, PA 16678.
