Gary Lee Davis, 74, Fredericksburg, rural Martinsburg passed away unexpectedly Wednesday morning at his residence.
He was born in McKee, son of the late John W. and Margaret E. (Lloyd) Davis. On November 7, 1961 he married Nancy E. Kyler in Portage.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 55 years; 3 sons: Michael L. (Cindy) of Hollsopple, Ronald E. (Bobbiejo) of Cessna and Bradley A. (Amber) of Fredericksburg; a daughter, Amy N. Davis (Dennis Harr) of Martinsburg; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a brother, John “Jack” Davis of Blue Knob.
He was preceded in death by 2 brothers: infant Ronald and Donald; and a great-grandson, Gabriel.
Gary retired in 2000 with 34 years of service at New Enterprise Stone & Lime Company, Roaring Spring where he worked in the Pre-Stress Department.
He was a member of Martinsburg Church of God and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Gary also enjoyed drag racing, hunting, watching game shows and the Barrett-Jackson auto auctions on television.
Friends will be received from 1-3pm, Sunday, January 22, 2017 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg. A funeral service will follow at 3pm at the funeral home, Pastor Lew I. Button, Pastor Joel C. Kletzing, and Pastor Nathan B. Starr officiating. Private interment will be held at Holsinger Cemetery, rural New Enterprise.
