George Henry Angus III

January 11, 1949 ~ October 30, 2024

George Henry Angus III, 75, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Wednesday morning, October 30, 2024.

He was born in Altoona, son of the late George Henry Jr. and Joan Leanore (Ferdinandi) Angus.  On December 23, 1968 he married Christine D. Blair in Cumberland, MD.

Surviving are his beloved wife, Christine of 55 years; two sons: Scott C. Angus (Vivian) of State College and Michael J. Angus (Alicia) of Warner Robins, GA; six grandchildren: Kaley Ehrle (Robert), Ariana Angus, Aidan Angus, Laura Angus, Alena Angus and Mari Angus.

George was a 1967 graduate of Altoona High School.  He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War attaining the rank of Sergeant and served with the First Armored Calvary Regiment.  George was awarded numerous service medals including the Bronze Star and Silver Star Medals.

He worked for 31 years as a UPS delivery driver and spent many of those years delivering packages in the Bedford area and in The Cove.

George was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hollidaysburg and the Duncansville Volunteer Fire Company.

He loved spending time with his family, morning walks with his wife, Christine and hanging out with friends at the Y.M.C.A.  George also enjoyed fishing, riding his Harley Davidson and going to classic car shows.

At George’s request there will be no public services and arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc.

Contributions in memory of George may be given to the Blair Regional Y.M.C.A., 1111 Hewit Street, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
