George E. Bundy

George E. Bundy, MECHANICSBURG, 92, died Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Messiah Village. He was the husband of Mary Olive (Lady) Bundy. Rev. Bundy was born in Detroit, son of the late Wilfrid and Lucina (Grey) Bundy. In 1954, he completed college at Messiah and Elizabethtown with a Teacher Certification. He worked three years for Brethren in Christ (BIC) God’s Love Mission in Detroit where he met his first wife, Ethel. They served as missionaries for the BIC Church in Zimbabwe for 25 years and nine years at the Navajo BIC Mission in New Mexico. He pastored nine congregations in Zimbabwe and the US. Surviving are children, Judith (Jon) Penner – Valencia, CA; Katharine (Lester) Dixon – York, PA; Alan – Mount Joy, PA, and Bruce (Merly) – Madrid, Spain; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, James (Martha) – NC, Ramon (Verna) – FL, and David (Marilyn) – MI.  Preceded in death by his first wife Ethel (Heisey) Bundy; two children, Wesley Ethan and Virginia Beth; siblings Audrey Northrup, John Bundy, and Shirley Hadden; and his daughter-in-law Laurie, wife of Alan. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at the Messiah Village Chapel, where an 11 a.m. service will be officiated by Pastor Debby Bentch. Interment in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to BIC World Missions, the Messiah Village Endowment Fund, or the Ensenada Girls Home.
