Gerald Frederick Sherlock

Gerald Frederick Sherlock, 74, of Hopewell, passed away on April 25, 2017 at his home. Born on August 28, 1942 in Saxton, the son of Gerald L. and Mercedes K. (Luther) Sherlock. On October 4, 1960, he married Carol M. (McElwee) Sherlock who survives. Gerald was a Navy Veteran, serving 3 years on the Battleship USS. Bearss during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, Northern Bedford sports, and was a founding member of the Yellow Creek Coalition. Surviving are his wife Carol; daughter Lisa Wachter (Tim) of New Enterprise; son Wayne Sherlock (Michelle) of Jack’s Corner; sisters Sharon Kowalski of Florida, Lana Brumbaugh of Saxton, and Beth Clough of Blairs Mills; and grandchildren Nick, Collin, Cameron, Ian, and Emilee Sherlock. He was preceded in death by a son Mark Sherlock and sister Marilee Karinshak. Friends will be received on Friday, April 28, 2017 from 4:00PM-8:00PM and Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 10:00AM to 11:00AM. At 11:00AM, Saturday a Funeral Service will take place. All of the above will be held at the Weaver Funeral Home in Woodbury. Interment at Bedford Forge United Methodist Church Cemetery.
