Glen D. Graybill, 93, of Nappanee, IN, formerly of Martinsburg, died peacefully early Tuesday morning, at Hubbard Hill Retirement Community in Elkhart, IN.

He was born in Martinsburg, son of the late Rev. Clayton A. and Bertha M. (Shelley) Graybill. He married Geraldine (Jill) Bankert on June 11, 1950 in Hollidaysburg.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 65 years; three sons: Scott (wife, Joyce) of Bremen, IN, Todd (wife, Diane) of Louisville, KY, and Mark (wife, Jill) of Elkhart, IN; five grandchildren: Lauren Phipps (husband, Tim) of Bremen IN, Spencer Graybill of South Bend IN, Kelly Graybill of Louisville, KY, and Travis and Allison Graybill of Chicago, IL; two great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn and Corbin Phipps of Bremen IN; and a sister, Dorothy Gwin of Martinsburg, PA.

He was preceded in death by three brothers: Carl, Leo and Paul Graybill; six sisters: Sara Herr, Lois Fuss, Miriam Shaffer, Elta, Pauline and Esther Marie Graybill, and a grandson, Clayton Graybill.

Mr. Graybill was a 1940 graduate of Morrisons Cove High School, Martinsburg. He was a World War II veteran having served in the Coast Guard from January 1943 until February 1946.

He was formerly employed as a supervisor at Sylvania Electronics in Altoona, PA until his retirement in 1978 following 28 years of service. He then worked an additional 10 years for the Pennsylvania Department of Education.

Glen was an active, lifelong member of the Martinsburg Mennonite Church where he served in many capacities. He and Jill volunteered for two years as hosts for the Mennonite International Guest House in Washington, DC. Glen's civic activities included two terms on the Spring Cove School Board, including one year as board president. He served as board president of The Village at Morrisons Cove Retirement Community and on the board for the Morrisons Cove Memorial Park.

Since moving to Nappanee, Indiana in 2007 to be closer to his children, Glen was devoted to the care of his wife, Jill. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and his friends at Heritage House.

Friends will be received from 6-8pm, Friday, March 4, 2016 at Martinsburg Mennonite Church and from 10 am until the 11 am funeral service at the church, Saturday, March 5, 2016, Pastor Joseph H. Furry officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.

The family suggests memorial contributions be given to Martinsburg Mennonite Church, 300 East Spring Street, Martinsburg, PA, 16662.
