Woodbury, formerly of Saxton

Harry B. Rinard, 92, of Woodbury, formerly of Saxton, passed away on January 5, 2024, at home. He was born on January 11, 1931 in Saxton; son of the late Jacob and Mable (Crum) Rinard.

Harry served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War. He received the Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars, and medals in Good Conduct, National Defense Service, and United Nations Service.

He was a graduate of Saxton Liberty High School and member of the Stonerstown Church of the Brethren and the Saxton VFW. Harry was employed by the Saxton Bottling Company and later, Seton Company. He was a master craftsman and enjoyed fishing and the time he spent with his family.

Harry was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Mae (Stuller) Rinard on January 24, 2004; daughter, Cheryl on July 31, 2023; grandson, Victor A.; and a son-in-law, Terry Koontz. Surviving is daughter, Susan Heath (Victor) of Saxton; daughter, Robin Dorman (Ray) of Cresson; daughter, Sondra Koontz of Woodbury; 7 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received on Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 10:00AM until the 11:00AM Celebration of Life Service with Pastor Mary Garvey officiating. All of the above will be held at the Stonerstown Church of the Brethren. Inurnment will immediately follow at the Grandview Cemetery- Saxton with military honors.

If so desired, Memorial Contributions in Harry’s name can be made to the Saxton VFW.
