Harry F. "Don" Long, 83, Henrietta, rural Martinsburg, passed away Thursday morning at The Village at Morrison's Cove, Martinsburg, following a brief illness.

He was born in Hollsopple, Somerset County, son of the late Roy and Ada I. (May) Long. He married Arlene B. Ayers on January 21, 1950 in Woodbury.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 65 years; a son, Larry A. (Helen) of Hollidaysburg; a daughter, Gail Mellons of Martinsburg; 3 grandchildren: Crystal Smith, Cathy Whitman and Christopher Harclerode; 4 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Terry L. of Henrietta.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Gorman; and 2 brothers: Darold J. and R. Gary.

Don attended Morrison Cove High School, Martinsburg, and was an active member of Diehl's Crossroads Church of the Brethren, rural Martinsburg, where he served as a trustee.

He retired as a concrete finisher from New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co., Roaring Spring, with over 20 years of service.

Don loved spending time with his family and also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Friends will be received from 10:30 am until the 12 noon memorial service, Saturday, November 7, 2015, at Diehl's Crossroads Church of the Brethren, rural Martinsburg, Pastor Millie F. Baker officiating. Private inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be given to the family for the benefit of Harry's daughter who resides at The Village at Morrisons Cove.
