Hazel Viola Houp, 85, a resident of Homewood at Martinsburg, formerly of Woodbury, passed away Monday morning, June 28, 2021 at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center, Roaring Spring.

She was born in Williamsburg, daughter of the late Joseph B. and Annie B. (McCall) Snively.  On January 24, 1953 she married Herbert C. Houp in Ore Hill.

Surviving are her beloved husband of 68 years; two sons: Steven C. Houp of Woodbury and Barry E. (Robin) of Ore Hill; three grandchildren: Jason Houp, Justin Houp (Chelsea) and Shane Houp; a sister, Betty A. Smith (Dennis) of Venice, FL; and a brother, Donald E. Snively (Sherry) of rural Roaring Spring.

She was preceded in death by an infant son; a sister, D. Jean Shriner; and a brother, Robert B. Snively.

Hazel attended Morrisons Cove High School, Martinsburg. She was primarily a homemaker who loved spending time with her family and also enjoyed crocheting, traveling, doing puzzles and playing bingo.

At the request of the deceased there will be no public viewing or service.  A private interment will be held at Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery, rural Martinsburg.   Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg.
