Helen L. (Stehle) States

Helen L. States, 94, of Martinsburg, formerly of Woodbury, passed away on June 19, 2019 at Homewood in Martinsburg. She was born on May 10, 1925 in Altoona, daughter of the late John and Catherine (Murray) Stehle. On March 21, 1945 in Altoona, she was united in marriage to John D. “Jack” States Sr.; he preceded her in death on March 27, 2004. Helen was a member of the Altoona Bible Church. She along with her husband John were the owners of States Auto Sales and Service in Woodbury. Helen was an avid reader and loved doing crossword puzzles. She was preceded in death by her husband John; a son John D. States Jr.; and a brother John Stehle. Surviving are son David A. States (Carla) of Woodbury; son Jared L. States of Elizabethtown; daughter-in-law Carolyn States of New Enterprise; as well as 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received on Monday, June 24, 2019 from 10:00-11:00AM. At 11:00AM, a Funeral Service will take place with Pastor Stewart McClelland officiating. All of the above will be held at the Weaver Funeral Home in Woodbury. Interment will be in Dry Hill Cemetery.
