Helen A. Fleming, 88, formerly of Altoona, passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at Hillview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in Bellefonte, daughter of the late Charles Wesley and Edith (Corman) Pennington. She married William Paul Fleming on April 28, 1962, and he preceded her in death in September 1985.

Surviving are a son, Paul E. Fleming (Linda) of Flinton; a daughter-in-law, Joan Fleming of Monaca; four grandchildren: Shane Matthew, Marissa Lynn, Bradley Fisher and Justin Alexander; a sister, Betty McDowell (Chuck) of Altoona; three nieces: Marsha Johnson (Gary), Linda Marlowe (Bill) and Tracy Novack; and other numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a stepson, Harry Fleming; a stepdaughter, Jane Fink; a grandson, Justin Keith; a brother, Donald Pennington; and two nephews: Charles McDowell Jr. and Terry McDowell.

Helen was a member of Christ Community United Methodist Church, Altoona.

Friends will be received from 9:30 until the 11 am funeral service, Saturday, November 17, 2018, at Christ Community United Methodist Church, Altoona, the Rev. Rebecca L. Holland officiating.  Interment will be at Carson Valley Cemetery, Duncansville.

Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg.
