Helen P. Roller, 101, rural Williamsburg, joined her husband, Marion in heaven Monday evening at her home following a brief illness.

She was born along Piney Creek, rural Martinsburg, daughter of the late Clarence L. and Isabel B. (Bice) Smith.  On August 25, 1939 she married Marion C. Roller in Woodbury.  He preceded her in death on September 2, 1992, after 53 loving years of marriage.

Surviving are 2 daughters: Bonnie J. Bahel of Woodlyn and Sue E. Beckermann of Sauk Centre, Minn; 2 sons: James R. of rural Williamsburg and John B. of Huntingdon; a foster-son, Patrick Prough of Williamsburg; 9 grandchildren; 3 foster-grandsons; 12 great-grandchildren; 4 foster-great-granddaughters; and 2 sisters: M. Golda Smith of Martinsburg and Nancy M. Miller of Woodbury.

She was preceded in death by 5 sisters: Virginia W. Fortney, Naomi W. Slagenweit, Mary Alice Sauer, S. Margaret “Peggy” Hoover and Shirley A. Knepp; and 4 brothers: Clarence Jr. “Lefty”, Emmert W., Homer E. and Donald F.

Helen was a 1934 graduate of Morrisons Cove High School, Martinsburg and a member of the former First Presbyterian Church, Williamsburg.

During WW II she was employed as a mail carrier for the Williamsburg Post Office, while her husband served in the Pacific.  She also worked as a Nurse’s Aide at Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring.

Helen enjoyed bowling and traveling with her husband, Marion.

Friends will be received from 5-8 pm, Thursday, October 27, 2016 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg.  A funeral service will be held at 2 pm, Friday, October 28, 2016 at the funeral home, Pastor Tiffany E. Marvich officiating.  Interment will be held at Presbyterian Cemetery, Williamsburg.
