Jacob Alfred Guyer

Jacob Alfred Guyer, 96, of New Enterprise RD, died July 21, 2013, at his home. He was born January 13, 1917, in Woodbury, the son of Nelson Schaffer and Elizabeth (Wineland) Guyer.
He first married to Helen (Shaw) who passed away in 1945; then married Esther L (Carper) in Winchester, Va., in Sept. 22, 1955, who passed away in Oct. 30, 2003.
He was a member of the Woodbury Church of the Brethren. He was employed from 1970 to 1990 in Bell Mead, N.J., then had Jeb¹s Nursery in New Enterprise from 1990 to 2013. His interest were chickens, trees, plants, grafting and propagation.
He is survived by his daughter, Janeth Smith of Duncansville; three sons, Fred A. Guyer of Hollidaysburg; Irvin L. Guyer of New Enterprise; and Scott E. Guyer of New Enterprise; one sister, Ruth Kaltenbach of Hemett, Calif.; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and one nephew, Robert "Bobby" Guyer of Woodbury.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday July 28, 2013, at the S. Gerald Weaver Funeral Home and 10 to 11 a.m. Monday July 29, 2013, at the Woodbury Church of the Brethren, where an 11 a.m. service will be held by Pastor Larry Graybill.
Interment is in the Dry Hill Cemetery.
Memorials maybe done by planting a tree in his memory.
