Jacob James Carper, Jr., 85, of Loysburg, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at his home. He was born on June 21, 1940 in Bakers Summit; son of the late Jacob J. Sr. and Hazel A. (Helsel) Carper. On April 22, 1961 at the St. Patrick Catholic Church – Newry, he was united in marriage to Agnes L. (Moyer) Carper.
Jake served his country as a member of the United States Navy (Active Duty and Reserves) from 1960 to 1966. He was employed by Hedstrom Corporation for 37 years as a material controlman. Jake was a member of the Woodbury Church of the Brethren and Tres Dias International. He was a former member of the Cove Lions Club – Loysburg.
Jake was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Hartman. Surviving are his wife, Agnes L. Carper; son, Eric J. Carper (Angie) of Manchester, MI; daughter, Bernice L. Engler of New Enterprise; son, Tracy G. Carper of Loysburg; grandchildren: Tayana Carper (Kelly), Derek Carper, Desiree Sauder (Wilson), and Donald Engler; great-grandchildren, Oaklee M. and Ryder C. Sauder; sister, Bonnie D. Flurie of Richfield, PA; brother, Barry L. Carper of Woodbury; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 from 4:00-7:00PM at the Woodbury Church of the Brethren and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at 11:00AM at the church; Pastor David Scott officiating. Interment will be in Replogle Cemetery – Woodbury.
