Jacqueline ”Jackie” Elaine Honsaker, 81, of Roaring Spring, passed away on February 7, 2025 at her home. She was born on November 13, 1943 in Altoona; the daughter of Thomas and Rhoda (Metzgar) Evans. Jackie was a 1961 graduate of Altoona High School. Jackie was married to Ronald Honsaker on September 1, 1962. She is preceded in death by her late husband, Irvin Ronald and her daughter, Paulette Kay. Jackie and Ron were dedicated members of the Martinsburg Mennonite Church throughout their marriage and upbringing of their 7 daughters. She is survived by Tami E. Grosmick of Monrovia, MD; Rhonda L. Butler (Larry) of Huntingtown, MD; Melissa J. Austin of Hollidaysburg, PA; Lori A. Kuncheff (David) of Mount Airy, MD; Karen E. Yingling (David) of Duncansville, PA; and Amy N. Knisely (Don) of East Freedom, PA. Also surviving are siblings Sandra Glunt, Karel Glunt, Thomas Evans, William Evans, and Daniel Evans, as well as 21 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Jackie worked alongside her husband for many years at their family-owned business, Honsaker Bros. Meat Market. Subsequently, she worked for MAMSI Health Insurance for almost 10 years in Frederick, Maryland. Her most rewarding endeavor was coordinating the LABO Japanese Student Exchange Program for 25 years, which since has been handed down to her daughter, Karen. She cherished learning about Japanese culture and sharing Christianity with the children and adult chaperones each summer, making lifelong friendships along the way.
Family and friends will always remember her contagious laugh, amazing cooking, her incredible gift of compassion and kindness, deep faith in God, and the never-ending love she poured upon everyone she knew.
Friends will be received on Friday, February 14th from 10:30AM until the 11:30AM Funeral Service at the Martinsburg Mennonite Church (300 E. Spring Street, Martinsburg, PA 16662). Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery - Johnstown.
