James S. Frederick 77, of Roaring Spring, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at Bedford Colonial Courtyard. He was born in Roaring Spring a son of the late Samuel R. and Mary (Shoop) Frederick. On June 14, 1969 at the Martinsburg Church of God he married his wife of over 56 years, Connie (Beach) Frederick who survives along with four children: Tracy Little and husband Brian, of Roaring Spring, Joe Frederick and wife Nicole, of Roaring Spring, Becky Light and companion Tim Bowser, of Schellsburg, and James R. Frederick and wife Kelly, of Glenside; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three brothers: Robert Frederick and wife Karen, Richard Frederick and wife Vickie, and Donald Frederick and wife Lori; three sisters-in-law: Kenda Beach and companion Kathy Cromwell, Brenda King widow of Greg, and LuAnn Beach, companion Joe Reilly. He was preceded in death by a brother Samuel Frederick, widow Darlene of Woodbury and a sister-in-law Karen LeBlanc, widower of Bill of Cape Cod.
Jim was a proud graduate of Northern Bedford High School Class of 1966. He attended Altoona School of Commerce and then New Hampshire College, now Southern New Hampshire University, and graduated in 1970 with a bachelor’s degree in Business and Accounting. Later, Jim became an Enrolled Agent, and operated Frederick Accounting Inc., in Roaring Spring for over 45 years. He made many lifelong friendships with his clients and community. He loved the outdoors, and hunting all wildlife, especially deer and turkey in Pennsylvania, Wyoming, and West Virginia. Jim was a member of Faith Assembly Church of God, Roaring Spring. He and Connie were former members of the Kings Choir and Heirsman, a traveling gospel group that they sang with for 10 years. He was an avid Pirates, Steelers, and Northern Bedford Athletics fan. He was a coach for little league teams, as well as flag football and church league softball. Jim was a man of great faith, and loved his community, music, singing, and most of all his family. He will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the wonderful staff at both Colonial Courtyard Assisted Living Facility in Bedford, and Gentivia Hospice for the amazing care and love they have shown.
Friends and family will be received on Monday, May 11, 2026 at the Faith Assembly of God Church, Roaring Spring, from 6-9 p.m. and again on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 from 1 pm until the 2 pm funeral service at the church with Rev. Richard Frederick officiating. Interment at Dry Hill Cemetery, Woodbury.
