James Wesley Swope

James Wesley Swope, age 78, Everett, died Sunday at the James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center, Altoona. He was born in Baltimore, MD, son of the late Ambert “Pete” and Mildred Swope-Morris. He married Mary Heming on Oct. 31, 1968 in Bedford. She preceded him in death on Feb. 12, 2009.

Surviving are a son, Ryan Swope; a daughter-in-law, Rachel; and an only grandchild, Evan.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Wendy Renee; and two brothers: Daniel and Dennis Swope.

James was a US Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam Era. He worked at Standard Register in Bedford for 25 years.

All services are private. Interment will take place at Bedford Memorial Park.
