James E. Wheland

James E. Wheland, 81, of Williamsburg, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2026 at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center – Roaring Spring. He was born on November 5, 1944 in Bellefonte; son of the late Merle W. and Ruth L. (Lykens) Wheland.

James was a Class of 1962 graduate of State College High School and served his country as a member of the Air National Guard for 6 years. He was a former member of the Williamsburg Church of God. James retired in 2004 after 37 years as a baler operator for The Fonda Group Inc. – Williamsburg. He enjoyed reading, working, and time spent with his family.

Surviving is his brother, Donald E. Wheland (wife, Margaret) of Williamsburg; brother, Norman M. Wheland (wife, Doris Ann) of Williamsburg; sister, Lois M. Galbraith (husband, Ralph) of Hollidaysburg; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Thursday, February 5, 2026 from 11:30AM until the 1:00PM Funeral Service at the Fink & Stone Funeral Home in Williamsburg; Pastor Paul Campbell officiating. Interment will be in the Oreminea Cemetery.
