James R. "Jim" Wood

James R. "Jim" Wood, 82, of Hollidaysburg, formerly of Williamsburg, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 19, 2023, after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Edmond, WV, so of Bruce and Helen (Lewis) Wood. On August 13, 1960, he married the love of his life, Judith McVaney. They enjoyed 60 years of marriage until her passing on October 21, 2020.
Jim is survived by his son, Jamie Wood (Bonnie); a daughter, Tammy Verbonitz; two brothers: Chuck Wood (Olga) and Dave Wood (Lucy); a sister, Ellen Fleshman; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a brother, Bill Wood.
Jim was a U.S. Army veteran. After his service to our country, he spent his career manufacturing eyeglasses. He was a member of the Williamsburg Full Gospel Church and the American Legion in Williamsburg.
He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, camping and golf. A great day to Jim was on the golf course with his golfing buddies, Jamie and Joe Jenkins. He especially loved spending time with family.
Friends will be received from 11a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg, where a memorial service with military honors will immediately follow at noon, Rowdy Kagarise officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jim's name to the American Legion in Williamsburg, 1325 Yellow Springs Dr., Williamsburg, PA 16693.
