James K. Wright, 82, of Martinsburg, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, June 22, 2025 surrounded by his loving family, following a brief illness.

He was born in Woodbury, son of the late Wilbert K. and Mabel A. (Buell) Wright.  On October 4, 1974 he married Sally Ann Creps at the St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Martinsburg.

Surviving are his beloved wife, Sally of 50 years; a daughter, Jodi Lynn Hartley (David) of Sheridan, WY; a granddaughter, Aubrey C. “Sunshine” Hartley; and a brother, Donald “Tiny” Wright (Pam) of Roanoke, IN.

Jim was preceded in death by two sisters: Betty Corle and Shelby Stapleton; and a brother, Rodger Wright.

He was a 1960 graduate of Northern Bedford High School and a member of Woodbury Church of the Brethren.

Jim retired in 2007 from the housekeeping department at Homewood at Martinsburg and had previously worked in housekeeping for Nason Hospital in Roaring Spring.

He loved spending time with his family, playing in the 60 and over basketball league at the Garver Memorial YMCA in Roaring Spring and Hoopsfest in Tyrone.  Jim also enjoyed fishing, classic cars, taking walks and collecting ball caps.

Friends will be received from 10am until 12noon, Friday, June 27, 2025 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg, where a funeral service will begin at 12noon, Pastor Tim Guyer officiating. Interment will be held at Dry Hill Cemetery, Woodbury.
