Jamie Allan Weitzel, 48, of Bedford, passed away on December 15, 2024 at his home. He was born on January 8, 1976 in East Stroudsburg, the son of Kim Weitzel. On July 12, 2008 in Loysburg, he was united in marriage to Bobbie (Tenley) Weitzel, who survives.
Jamie was a Class of 1995 graduate of Stroudsburg High School. He served his country as a member of the United States Army and Army National Guard; retiring after 23 years of service and at the rank of Sergeant. Jamie was employed by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for 19 years, most recently as a Transportation Technician with the Construction Unit. He was an active member of the Bedford Fire Department No. 1, currently serving as a firefighter and Chief Engineer. Before his membership at Bedford, Jamie was active with the Everett Fire Company, No. 1.
Jamie was preceded in death by a daughter, Jasmine Alexis Weitzel. Surviving is his wife, Bobbie Weitzel; son, Cooper Weitzel at home; son, Derek Weitzel of Everett; mother, Kim Weitzel; and other extended family.
Receiving of Friends and Family will be on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 from 4:00PM-7:00PM and Wednesday, January 8, 2025 from 9:00AM until the 11:00AM Memorial Service at the New Enterprise Church of the Brethren; Pastor Paul Snyder officiating.
The Bedford Fire Department No. 1 will hold a Fireman's Memorial Service at 7:00PM on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at the New Enterprise Church of the Brethren.
If so desired, Memorial Contributions in Jamie’s name may be made to the Bedford Fire Department No. 1 (248 W. Penn St. Bedford, PA 15522).
