     Jan R. Bussard, 80, of Williamsburg, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at the James A. Van Zandt VA Medical Center, Altoona. He was born in Braddock, a son of the late Joseph A. and Majorie I. (Perrin) Bussard II. On December 3, 1983 in Williamsburg he married Ruby (McGregor) Bussard who survives along with two children: Neil Miller and wife Lucy and Teresa Kifer and husband Gary, of Williamsburg; 6 grandchildren: Alyssa Gorsuch and husband Bob, Adam Miller and wife Cameron, Steven Kifer, Shanda Kifer and fiancé Randy, Tara Jurcik and husband Scott, and China Kifer; 11 great-grandchildren: Ashton, Foster, Tate, Carter, Geneva, Alexis, Shoshana, Fox, Nova, Braylyn, and Bixton; and two siblings: Joseph A. Bussard III widower of Amy, of Hollidaysburg, and Susan A. Liebal widow of Richard of Williamsburg.

    Jan was a 1963 graduate of Williamsburg High School. He then went on to serve in the US Army from 1963 until 1969, having been stationed in France during the Vietnam War. He retired from SCI Huntingdon, where he was a masonry instructor for many years. Jan was a strong man of faith, read his bible daily, and was a lay minister for the Church of God.

     A graveside service, at Shellytown Fairview Cemetery, with military honors will be announced at a later date.
