Janet L. Colbert

Janet L. Colbert, 75, of rural Martinsburg, passed away Monday evening, July 7, 2025 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown.
She was born in Imlertown, Bedford County, daughter of the late Ardean E. and Molly K. (Gazdik) Russell. On August 11, 1973 she married J. Wayne Colbert in Roaring Spring.
Surviving are her beloved husband, Wayne of 51 years; three children: Jeffrey C. (Tracy) of Williamsburg, Brittany J. Colbert (Wade Burket) of Martinsburg and Courtney L. Horton (Ron) of Saxton; 12 grandchildren: Anna Molly and Grace Marie Colbert, Katelynn Joy Zeth, Kinsley Lynn Brennan, Lane, Mattie and Laike Burket, Laney Kathryn Brumbaugh, Kolbie Joy Horton, Lexie Kaye Horton and Karlee and Kameron Horton; and a brother, Jack Russell (Anna) of Alum Bank.
She was preceded in death by an infant brother, Baby Russell.
Janet was a 1968 graduate of Central High School, Martinsburg and also completed the cosmetology program at the Altoona Beauty School.
She worked at various places throughout the Cove including: Spring Cove School District cafeteria, Homewood at Martinsburg and Ed’s Riverside in Martinsburg.
Janet was raised in the United Church of Christ in Roaring Spring and attended Mt. Pleasant United Church of Christ, rural Martinsburg for many years.
She loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren, going to the beach, camping at Raystown and Friendship Village and picnics at the Henrietta Sportsman’s Club. Janet also enjoyed being the home to hang at and taxi service for her children and their friends, supporting Central sporting events and cheerleading and singing with the “Café 5”, which was a group of friends from the Spring Cove School District cafeteria.
Friends will be received from 5-8pm, Thursday, July 10, 2025 at Grace Fellowship, Duncansville and from 10 until 11am, Friday, July 11, 2025 at the church, where a funeral will begin at 11am, Pastor Mark Lingenfelter officiating. Interment will be held at Diehl’s Crossroads Church Cemetery, rural Martinsburg.
Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg.
