Janice L. “Ninny” Gunnett, 56, rural Williamsburg, went home to be with the Lord late Friday at UPMC Altoona.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of Bertha L. (McGregor) and the late Charles F. Glass. Janice married Gordon E. Gunnett on April 10, 1975 in rural Williamsburg.

Surviving are her beloved husband of 40 years; her mother of rural Williamsburg; a son Jonathan M. (wife, Ruth) of Shippensburg, a daughter, Julie A. Clark (husband, Edward) of rural Williamsburg, a son, Joseph A. (wife, Joanna) of Pennsylvania Furnace; 8 grandchildren: Jayden, Tyler, Grace, Andrew, Naomi, Myah, Micah, Adelaide and Ninny was anticipating the arrival of the 9th grandchild; 3 brothers: Lloyd N. Noland, Franklin E. Glass, and John F. Glass; 4 sisters: Donna L. Glass, A. Arlene McCall, Mary M. Kensinger, and Vicki J. Hanna.

She was a member of Fairview Church of the Brethren, rural Williamsburg.

Janice attended Central High School, Martinsburg and the Altoona Vocational School, earning her certification to become a medical secretary.

She was a medical secretary for Health South, Altoona and was also employed at the Altoona Hospital for many years.

Janice enjoyed watching Pittsburgh Pirate baseball, going to the beach, and her true enjoyment was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 5-8pm, Monday, May 4, 2015 at Fairview Church of the Brethren, rural Williamsburg, where a funeral service will be held at 11 am, Tuesday, May 5, 2015, Pastor Lee D. Saylor officiating. Interment will follow at Oreminea Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.

The family prefers memorial contributions be given to Pediatric Cancer Research or Breast Cancer Awareness.
