Janice L. (Helsel) Gable

Janice L. Gable, 76, of Woodbury, passed away on February 2, 2016 at Altoona UPMC.  Born on February 12, 1939 in Roaring Spring, the daughter of Sherman and Florence (Clouse) Helsel.  On April 8, 1961 in Woodbury, she married James D. Gable who preceded her in death on August 5, 2010.  Janice was a mother, a homemaker, and loved helping on the family farm.  She enjoyed putting puzzles together, needlework, cooking, crossword puzzles, and was a member of the Woodbury Church of the Brethren.  Survivors include daughter Amy (Jeff) Wilt of Hollidaysburg, PA; son Clark J. (Dianne) Gable of Woodbury, PA; and son Steven Gable of Carlisle, PA.  Surviving sisters include Shirley Russell of Woodbury, PA; Rosemary Gable of Martinsburg, PA; and Kathleen Trott of Orange, MA.  Also surviving are five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.  Visitation will be held on Friday, February 5th from 6:00PM-8:00PM and Saturday, February 6th from 10:00AM-11:00AM.  At 11:00AM on Saturday a Funeral Service will take place. All of the above will be held at the S. Gerald Weaver Funeral Home in Woodbury.  Interment will be at Dry Hill Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in honor of Janice to the American Heart Association.  Arrangements by the S.
