Janice Marie (Baker) Kennedy

Janice Marie (Baker) Kennedy, 66, of New Enterprise, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2016 at home. Born on December 14, 1949 in Roaring Spring, the daughter of Allen Sr. and Sara (Imler) Baker. In 1968 at the Woodbury Church of the Brethren, she married Wilfred D. Kennedy, who survives. Janice was employed by the Roaring Spring Blank Book, the Roaring Spring Bottling Plant, and enjoyed being a Girl Scout Leader. She was a member of the Woodbury Church of the Brethren and her hobbies included embroidery and quilting. Survivors include her husband, Wilfred; daughters, Alisha Hixson, Angie Drake, Jeniene Kennedy, and Delilah Kennedy; and son, Joseph Kennedy, all of New Enterprise. Also surviving is brother, Allen Baker Jr.; sisters, Nancy Lafferty and Lynn Ervin; and eleven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Sherman Allen Kennedy. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 23rd from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the S. Gerald Weaver Funeral Home in Woodbury and on Friday, June 24th from 10:00AM to 11:00AM at the Woodbury Church of the Brethren. At 11:00AM Friday a Funeral Service will be held with Pastor David Ulm officiating. Interment will be at Holsinger Cemetery. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Kennedy Family.
