Janice (Burk) Moore

Janice (Burk) Moore, 94, a resident of Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Altoona, formerly of Martinsburg, passed away Friday evening, November 17, 2023 at the home.

She was born in Duncansville, daughter of the late Fred and Mary (Detwiler) Burk.  In 1948 she married Alfred M. “Hoot” Moore in Hollidaysburg.  He preceded her in death on August 7, 1982.

Surviving is a son, Brian M. Moore of Martinsburg.

She was preceded in death by two brothers: Charles and William Burk; and a sister, Vivian Dick.

Janice attended the Duncansville Evangelical Lutheran Church for many years.  She was primarily a homemaker who enjoyed sewing and crocheting.  Janice greatest love was her family and quiet time sitting on the swing in the breezeway at their home.

A memorial service is being planned for a later date and private interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.  Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Janice may be given to the Duncansville Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1200 Fourth Ave., Duncansville, PA 16635.
