Jannet L. Frederick, 98, a resident of Midtown Oaks Health & Rehab Center, Altoona, formerly of Martinsburg, passed away Tuesday afternoon, July 18, 2023, at UPMC Altoona.

She was born in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late Albert and Mirla (Mauk) Butler. On March 26, 1946, she married Dean W. Frederick in Winchester, Virginia. He preceded her in death on November 30, 2005, following 59 years of marriage.

Surviving are a daughter, Barbara A. Elliott, of Martinsburg; four grandchildren: Lisa Ponder (Jim) of Roaring Spring, Randy Wagner (Jen) of Johnstown, Kris Wagner of Virginia, and Dean Miller; six great-grandchildren: Jared Ponder (Meghan), Kimberly Ponder, Katie Clapper (Devin), Justin Ponder, Ryan Wagner, and Dominic Wagner; two sisters: Deanna Pepple of Chesapeake, Virginia and Leotta Fleck of Hale, Michigan; and numerous extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by two daughters: Brenda L. Frederick and Susie J. Miller; two great-granddaughters: GracieJean Miller and Alexis Miller; and three brothers: Kenny, Skip, and Jr. Butler.

Jannet was a 1942 graduate of Roaring Spring High School and was employed as a secretary at Agway, Curryville, until her retirement. She was a lifelong member of the Woodbury Church of God.

Jannet loved spending time with family and friends and also enjoyed completing puzzles, sewing, reading and listening to audio books.

Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, July 21, 2023 at John K. Bolger Funeral Home, Inc., Martinsburg and from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, July 22, 2023, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Pastor James Shaffer officiating. Interment will be made at Dry Hill Cemetery, Woodbury.
