Jerry E. Smith, 69, of Huntingdon, met Jesus Wednesday morning, January 8, 2020, at AristaCare at Huntingdon Park, following an extended illness.

He was born in Martinsburg, son of the late Paul K. and Cathrine Leora (Ross) Smith. On June 19, 1972, he married Donna E. McCann in Martinsburg. She preceded him in death on June 10, 2014.

Surviving are a daughter, Stephanie M. (Phil) Hodges of York; a son, D. Jason Smith of Trevor, WI; four grandchildren: Kayla M. and Nathan D. Hodges, Dayna M. and Christy E. Smith; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Cara Lourenna Rinker of Huntingdon.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Eugene Smith.

Jerry was a 1968 graduate of Central High School and completed his education in building construction at Williamsport Trade School. He worked most of his life as a maintenance person for various businesses. Jerry also shared the gospel through prison ministry at the Huntingdon Correctional Facility and sang and played with the Kings Choir.

He loved spending time with family, singing, playing the piano, organ, and accordion, and also enjoyed hunting.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2pm, Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Woodcock Valley Bible Church, James Creek, Pastor Barry Yingling officiating, with a time of fellowship to follow the service at the church. Private inurnment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg. Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Jerry can be given to Woodcock Valley Bible Church (Mission Fund), 16412 Raystown Road, James Creek, PA 16657.
