Joan I. Peters, 81, Martinsburg, formerly of Warrington passed away Wednesday evening at her residence.
She was born in Loudonville, OH, daughter of the late Herbert R. and E. Ruth (Payton) Peters.
Surviving are 4 sons: Kim Jones and Derek Jones both of Warrington, Corey Jones of Hesston, James Jones of New Britain; a daughter, Shawna Heineman of Huntingdon Valley, PA; 7 grandchildren; a great-grandson, a sister, Pat McNeil in Florida; and a brother, Herbert L. Peters of Gallatin, TN.
She was preceded in death by 3 sisters: Shirley Seevor, DeYvonne Zugrave and Barbara Reigle.
Joan was a 1953 graduate of Timken Vocational High School, Canton, OH and in 1978 she earned her Licensed Practical Nursing degree from the Upper Bucks County Technical School of Practical Nurse program.
As an LPN she worked exclusively in the geriatric field, and was known to be a patient advocate, always making sure her patients and families were priority despite nursing home, hospital or insurance rules and regulations.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
