Joe Herbert "Herb" Ferry, 87, of Gray Stone Manor, Roaring Spring, formerly of Hipples Cave Road Woodbury RD, passed away Oct. 30, 2016, at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home. He was born Dec. 11, 1928, in New Enterprise RD, the son of J. Elwood and Kathryn (Smith) Ferry.He married Peggy Snyder Feb. 14, 1992, at Mt Pleasant UCC. He was a member of the St. John's Reformed Church Loysburg. He retired from Burkett Motor's, Bedford, and was a 1949 graduate of Replogle High School. He was a Sergeant in the Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed hunting, baseball and football and was a member of the American Legion, Raver's Gap Sportsman's and Loyal Order of Moose. Joe was survived by his wife, Peggy; one brother, James; and a brother-in-law, John Snyder and wife, Nell. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Donald, Elwood Jr. and Dick. There will be no public visitation. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be held in the Dry Hill Cemetery. Memorials maybe given to American Heart Association or the St. John's Reformed Church. Arrangements by the S. Gerald Weaver Funeral Home; Woodbury.
