John H. Donelson

John H. Donelson, 76, of Everett, passed away on March 30, 2017 at his home. Born on March 14, 1941 in Grantsville, MD, he was the son of Harry and M. Elizabeth (Walls) Donelson. On January 21, 1965 at the Everett Grace Brethren Church he married Linda R. (Lingenfelter) Donelson. He was a graduate of the California University of Pennsylvania where he earned a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree. John was an Industrial Arts teacher for the Everett Area School District for 39 years, where his students knew him as “Pappy D”. He was a member of the Pennwood Bible Church where he served in numerous positions throughout the years, including being a Sunday school teacher. If you knew John, you knew how much he loved to tell stories. He never met a stranger and he was always willing to help anyone in need. He enjoyed working outdoors and being Mr. Fix It.  Above all he loved his family. Surviving are his wife Linda; son Jonathan L. Donelson (Carla) of Everett; daughter Stephanie S. Holliday (Darrell) of Bedford; grandchildren, Jessica Stone (Tommy), Jordyn McCalmont (Trevor), Michaela Heider (Dakota), Jared Donelson, Ace Grimm, and Kelsie, Jeremy, and Alexis Holliday; great-grandchildren Austin and Lily McCalmont; sister Brenna Mackall; and brothers James Donelson (Carol) and Francis Donelson (Gayle). He was preceded in death by a grandson Austin Grimm and brothers Claude and Ed. Friends will be received on Monday, April 3rd from 3:00PM to 8:00PM and Tuesday, April 4th from 10:00AM-11:00AM at the Pennwood Bible Church, 440 Hospital Drive Everett, PA 15537. At 11:00AM, Tuesday, a Funeral Service will take place with Pastor Stephen Scruggs officiating. Interment will be at the Everett Cemetery. Arrangements by Weaver Funeral Home, LLC; Woodbury.
