John "J.B." R. Bowser

John R. Bowser "J.B.", 76, of New Enterprise, passed away in his sleep on Tuesday, May 16, 2017. He was born January 13, 1941 to Robert and Iva (Eshelman) Bowser in Roaring Spring. On September 22, 1962, he married Dolly Shaw in Everett, PA. Survivors include his wife of 54 years Dolly; his two daughters, Beverly Leap and her husband Barry of Greencastle, and Karen Vannice and her husband Mark of Reading; three grandchildren Michael and Nicholas Vannice, and Kaylynn Leap; two brothers Joe and his wife Luella of Clearville, and Roger and his wife Kay of Roaring Spring; as well as many other relatives and friends. John worked as a cement truck driver and supervisor for New Enterprise Stone and Lime for 40 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, turkey hunting with his brothers, working in his vegetable garden, and relaxing on his front porch, keeping an eye on New Enterprise. A special thank you to the Village at Morrisons Cove for their loving care and support. A time of visitation will be held on Friday, May 19, 2017 from 9:00-11:00AM at the New Enterprise Church of the Brethren followed by a funeral service at 11:00. John will be laid to rest at Bedford County Memorial Park in Bedford. Memorial Contributions may be given in John's name to either the New Enterprise Church of the Brethren, P.O.
