John R. Ott 68, of Hollidaysburg, passed away early Sunday morning, August 24, 2025 at home. He was born in Hollidaysburg a son of the late Lawrence Ott, and Catherine V. (Brawley) Ott who survives of Hollidaysburg. He is survived by his longtime partner Robin Lear, two sons: Joseph Ott, of Altoona, and John Ott, of Colorado; two grandchildren: Damian and Catherine Ott; great-granddaughter Aurora Hughes; three siblings: Donald “Jake” Ott, of Hollidaysburg, Cindy Dempsie, of Colorado, and Deborah Hicks, of Altoona; five nephews: Jimmy Patterson, Brandon Ott, Tyson Hicks, Denny Dempsie, and Tyler Dempsie, and two nieces: Sheena Hicks, and Lauren Caputo.
John was a 1974 graduate of Hollidaysburg Area Senior High, and attended the Greater Altoona Career and Technology Center. He was a machinist for Gampe Machine & Tool Company, of Hollidaysburg. John attended the Juniata Valley Gospel Church, and was a member of the Frankstown Sportsman Club. He was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, archery, and wrestling. John was a very kind and generous man who loved his family and friends, and will be sorely missed.
No services to be held. Arrangements by the Fink & Stone Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., Williamsburg. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in John’s name to the Juniata Valley Gospel Church, 1301 Juniata Valley Road, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
