John D. Wagner, 77, of rural Hollidaysburg, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 24, 1949 in Clappertown; son of the late Robert and Faye (Banks) Wagner. On November 23, 1981 he married, Sheryl Lynn (Clark) Wagner in Winchester, Virginia; she preceded him in death on August 17, 2023.

John was a graduate of Central High School. He was employed for many years as a Heavy Equipment Operator with the local electrical union. John was a “master tinkerer” and enjoyed working on vehicles and engines. He enjoyed his early morning “coffee club” at Turkey Hill in Roaring Spring. John was a member of the Hollidaysburg Lodge No. 220, Valley of Altoona Scottish Rite, and the Jaffa Shriners. 

John was preceded in death by his siblings: Bobby, Donny, and Jeanne. Surviving are three daughters: Amy J. Miller (Terry Fresch) of Summerhill, Kris L. Isett (Jason) of Tyrone, and Heather J. Wagner of Hollidaysburg; six grandchildren: Kayla, Jake, Jonathan (Abbie), Meghan, Erica, and Kenley; two great-grandchildren: Ava and Liam; and a brother, Kenny Wagner.

Friends will be received on Thursday, April 16, 2026 from 6:00PM until the 7:00PM Celebration of Life Service at the Fink & Stone Funeral Home in Martinsburg. Private inurnment will be in Royer Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions in John’s name may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children (https://donate.shrinerschildrens.org).
