Jonathan David Byler, 58, of rural Martinsburg, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, February 12, 2022, at his home.

He was born in Lewistown, son of Jefferson R. Byler and the late Lydia M. (Yoder) Byler.  On October 8, 1985, he married Linda S. Hall in Alexandria and she preceded him in death on January 22, 2014.

Surviving are his father of Huntingdon; a daughter, Emily L. Byler of Huntingdon; two sons: Luke J. (Alyssa) Byler of rural Williamsburg and Eli D. Byler of State College; two grandchildren: Trevor and Claire Byler; six sisters: Wanda Ayers, Mary Lou Couch, Irene Miller, Rebecca Clark, Betty Forgy and Twila Bigelow; three brothers: Jeffrey, Jason and James Byler; and his companion, Sandra Steele of Martinsburg.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Byler.

John was a 1981 graduate of Juniata Valley High School.  He drove a feed truck for the past nine years for the Bedford Farm Bureau Co-op and previously for Mill Hill Agway in Williamsburg.  John also worked for many years as a dairy farmer for both himself and for a few local farms.

John loved spending time with his family and driving his John Deere model 40.  He also enjoyed going to tractor pulls, hunting and taking long drives on back country roads.

Friends will be received from 5-8pm, Friday, February 18, 2022 at the Williamsburg Christian & Missionary Alliance Church and from 10 until the 11am funeral service, Saturday, February 19, 2022, at the church, Pastor Paul Campbell and Pastor Lou Zannino Jr. officiating.  Private interment will be held at Shellytown-Fairview Cemetery, rural Williamsburg.
