Joseph Alan “JAC” Carper II

Joseph Alan “JAC” Carper II, 4, of Altoona passed away unexpectedly on Monday evening August 12, 2024 in Altoona. JAC was non-verbal and diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, therefore he struggled with elopement which resulted in an accidental drowning.
He was born in Altoona, the son of Joseph Alan and Shannon Elizabeth (Cullipher) Carper.
Surviving are his parents of Altoona; two sisters: Charlotte Elizabeth Carper and Emilia Barbara Carper both at home; grandparents: Brenda and Bret Johnsonbaugh, Keith and Kelly Carper, Peter and Claire Cullipher and Jamie Riffle-Cullipher; great-grandparents: Cathy Palmer, L. William Palmer III, Denny and Barb Carper, Ron and Bunny Riffle, Ruth and Mike DeHaas and Shirley Johnsonbaugh; an uncle, Chase Carper; five aunts: Mackenzie Carper, Jordan Johnsonbaugh, Nicole Hileman (Scott), Ami Fether (Ryan), and Hallie Cullipher; and many other family and friends that dearly loved JAC.
JAC attended school at the Journey Center and Learning Express both in Altoona.
He loved playing outside, jumping on his trampoline, swinging on his swing set, being tickled, and wrestling. JAC also enjoyed watching movies, eating chicken nuggets, vanilla ice cream, and Oreo cookies, and playing in the water.
JAC communicated with his family with an alternative augmentative communication device, which allowed him to express himself and interact with others, especially his big sister, Charlotte, who was his best friend.
Friends will be received from 2-6 pm, Sunday, August 18, 2024 at the Williamsburg Alliance Church, 5270 Piney Creek Road, Williamsburg, PA 16693 and from 10-11 am, Monday, August 19, 2024 at the church, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am, Pastor Brian Sandell officiating. Private interment will be held at Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Cemetery, Altoona.
Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Williamsburg.
